For 30+ Years James Lewis was one of the current owners of Lewis Structures, Inc. has been designing projects for commercial, industrial, residential, civil, and Landscaping construction. Even though he is not an architect or an engineer he has been part of about every phase of the design process. We currently partner with architects or engineers as needed as each project is a new and individual product.
If you need a full-service design and construction firm, we would love to accommodate you. We can design the project and consult with several of the architects or engineers that we have worked with in the past as needed, to complete your project at a discounted rate.
If you are looking for new home plans, architects and engineers are still not needed for most of these projects in Idaho. In the case of a home specifically we can work with you to provide your layout and construct your project from start to finish (except for a few select counties). In the cases where we need to retain a structural engineer we will gladly do so.
We have provided plans for projects in Washington, Idaho, and Oregon. Depending on the requirements of the location we can draft a structure for about anywhere. Our plans are not a “canned” set of plans meaning they will be designed for the snow loading, wind loading and seismic in your area. When you purchase a set of plans off a website they are canned and do not include any of the location data.

All Design service fees will be based on the time it takes to do the job. Our design services rate is $60.00 per hour. For instance, as of March 2023, a set of home plans costs anywhere from 2500 to 5k. Very rarely does it cost more than 5k unless it is a very large home.
